Default Dervish attack question

How does the AoE attack work with skills like empathy and the like?
If three opponents are adjacent to the Dervish does the Dervish make three "swings" or just one?
Does empathy get activated three times or one time?

( these are pretty much the same questions just in different wording )

i do think so, if you hit multiple targets, it will trigger multiple times

It all depends on whether or not the attack skill says "attacks all adjacent" or just "deals XX damage to all adjacent". There's a big difference. If it's "attacks all adjacent", then yes, Empathy/SS will trigger for each foe attacked. If it's the other, then you should only be penalized for one attack.

As I understand it the Dervish auto attack is AoE, not the skills.
So it does 14-41 damage each 1.5 seconds to all adjacent opponents.

So the question the becomes
Does the Dervish auto attack "attack all adjacent" or "deals XX damage to all adjacent"?

I will test this once I get home from work unless someone beats me to it

From my Dervish testing, he/she swings the scythe once, but is able to attack all enemies in his/her area. I'd say that he's hit for Empathy once.

I would suspect it's 3 times.

Here's why. I found those AOE strikes trigger defensive warrior abilities like Riposte/Deadly Riposte/Gladiator's Defense even when the warrior in question is not the 'targeted' enemy. So a warrior can just run up to a dervish, trigger riposte repeatly and watch the Dervish destroy himself even when he's not targeting the warrior.
